When you’re in Paris, always keep your camera ready cause you never know what gem you are gonna stumble on especially when you are wandering aimlessly through its streets!
The City of Light is full of wonderful hidden gems worth writing about. I stumbled upon the “I love you wall” while strolling through Montmartre with my lovely friend. Its location is at Abbesses garden at Place du Abbesses. The “I Love You Wall” in Montmarte is an adorable tribute to the world’s most romantic city. The artists who created the wall chose 311 written samples of love quotes and put them on blue glazed tiles to make up the wall.
Montmartre is the highest hill (butte) and the surrounding area in the north of Paris, known for its narrow streets, its famous steep staircases, and artistic reputation. Many famed artists had worked here, Dali, Modigliani, Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso and more. It holds a romantic but hip Parisian vibe and is the perfect place to watch people in its atmospheric cafes, or wander around up and down. The bottom of the hill is covered with hip bars and nightclubs, set in the notorious seediness of Pigalle (the Red Light District area). Also home to the Moulin Rouge Cabaret.
The “I love you” wall is not completely undiscovered yet not completely unknown so I still think it can fall under the category of “hidden gem”. The “I love you” wall in Paris is so romantic in its own natural way that it almost makes you want to believe in love even if love and marriage isn’t your cup of tea…..
The I love you wall in Paris is definetely a must if you are the most romantic city on the planet
