La Buttes aux cailles is one of my favorites hidden gems in Paris.
La Butte-aux-Cailles, which means Quail Hills is one of Paris’ most charming, yet little known neighborhoods. It’s located in the XIII arrondissement and retains the feeling of a small village in the middle of a big city.
The beauty of La Butte-aux-Cailles is that there aren’t any chain stores to be found in the area, until you see the cars you think that you were transported back in time. Because of its uniqueness, La Butte-aux-Cailles attracts artists and musicians and is becoming a bit of a hipster’s paradise.
Walking around this little community is a treat that shouldn’t be missed, so take a step off the tour book’s beaten paths and visit La Butte-aux-Cailles. To get there, just take metro line 6, the light green line to Corvisart and look for La Rue des Cinq Diamantes.
