Have you ever heard about the word staycation ? if not, you might hear it more and more since everyone is buzzing these days about staycation. Staycation is a fancy term for spending your time-off leaving your home (or not…) but not your hometown. The trick to enjoying a staycation is to deviate from daily routines and truly make it a vacation.
Even if you don’t have plans to move, taking a break from your home without leaving your hometown can be an excellent way to recharge your batteries. Even just a weekend in a hotel can leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed, and leaving home pulls you out of your normal routine, giving you the chance to discover new and wonderful ways to spend time in your hometown.
I love having a staycation in my hometown, Paris. When I don´t have time to book a trip abroad and I feel I need a rest, a break from my routine and need to take care of myself and be pampered by all the services the hotel has to offer.
I usually pick a hotel outside of my neighborhood — if you live in the suburbs, definitely pick a place downtown in the heart of all the action. You could stay in and enjoy the room service, order a massage inside your room, have a long bath, take a nap in the middle of the day with no guilt or you could use this free time to rediscover your hometown like a tourist. Spend the day wandering the city, rediscovering the joys of what your city hide, its hidden gem. Seeing your hometown from another perspective. Eating a bite in that restaurant that caught your eyes on your way to the office for instance. Go to a local coffee house and splurge on a cappuccino or other creation and spend a few hours lost in a book. walking with your head up in the air enjoying playing the stranger in the city of your birth.
A stayvacation is one option that I warmly recommend you to try. I did give this advice to my sister who was stressed out with work, her kids and being a wifey. She went and had a staycation and came back completely recharged and full with good and positive vibe ready to continue enjoying her everyday life with her loved ones.
For my concern, I decided to have my staycation at Hotel Baltimore located in the heart of Paris, just behind the Champs Elysee on the avenue Kleber. I was very very pleased by the hotel. I have never visited the hote before, so this first experience was a success and I cannot wait to go back for another staycation.
The room was cosy, the food was delightfull, the staff was so friendly and really nice. I was actually quiet ill during my staycation and everyone, from the concierge, the room service, the housekeeping, they all had a little special attention to help me feel better. Little napkins next to my bed, a warm tea or a lemon juice offered when I ordered my meal to my room. How lovely and thoughtfull is that?
I have nothing to say but very good critics to give about the Hotel. Thumb up to Hotel Baltimore!
